The Kara Walker room might have been the most relevant section of the whole exhibition given the racial tension that has been felt around the country for the past two years. It reveals how ingrained slavery and oppression are in American history and how it feeds the American culture. There is a bit of fun and humor in the works but somehow it makes it even more uncomfortable to look at the work because you know the ugly truth behind it.
